Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: June 1st, 2025

Gradly is committed to making its document‑enhancement and scholarship‑matching platform usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement summarizes our current accessibility posture, processes, and forward‑looking commitments for the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT).

1. Accessibility Standard

Gradly strives to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across all user‑facing and administrator interfaces. Accessibility features are built into the primary experience; no separate “accessibility mode,” overlay, or alternate interface is required.

2. Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) / Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR)

A VPAT 2.4 (WCAG 2.1 AA) is being prepared and will be available to partner institutions upon request. The document will be reviewed and refreshed on a regular release cadence.

3. Conformance Verification & SDLC Integration

Accessibility criteria are incorporated at design kickoff, scoped into Agile sprint planning, and verified during quality assurance. The team performs keyboard‑only navigation tests, screen‑reader spot checks, color‑contrast analysis, and automated scans (e.g., axe DevTools) before each release. Keyboard‑only operation is verified in current versions of major browsers.

4. Reporting & Tracking Accessibility Issues

Accessibility concerns can be reported via:

All reports are logged, triaged promptly, and tracked to resolution. A dedicated accessibility issue category and periodic review cycle are planned as part of ongoing process improvements.

5. Third‑Party Audits & Roadmap

Gradly intends to engage an independent accessibility auditor and to publish a high‑level accessibility roadmap outlining future improvements. Details will be shared with partner institutions once finalized.

6. Staff Expertise & Training

Team members review W3C WAI resources, IAAP webinars, and community guidance to stay current. Formal accessibility certifications are being evaluated for future professional development. All new team members receive onboarding covering inclusive‑design practices.

7. Continuous Improvement

Gradly embeds accessibility considerations throughout its development lifecycle and continuously refines processes to address new standards and user feedback.
